Re: Tree lopper
He looks sad...is he getting paid handsomely there? I would like a much smaller photo of him working that big tree...

Re: Tree lopper
Nicely focused on the subject and his nice bright OH&S gear draw the eye nicely.

Re: Tree lopper
I agree, great shot. There's a lot of crazy things I've done, and do, but taking down trees from the top down....nope, ain't gonna do it.

Re: Tree lopper
I did our trees a couple of years ago except I was upside down telling my
wife I was a fruit bat. Oh boy!!

Re: Tree lopper
Thanks for all the comments. I have no head for heights and would never have been able to do this. I have cut down a few trees from ground level and that was scary enough. I thought it came out well for an unplanned grab shot and restored my faith in the lens combination (70-200 f2.8 plus 2x extender).
Izzie, I did not speak to the people doing this and I did not get a feeling for their state of mind but I did hear a falling noise and some expletives a little while before this. Every tree lopping group that I have come across seems to have a climber who is treasured.
