So often folks complain of "nothing" to shoot!

I have just the opposite "problem" two shoots on the same day about thirty miles apart.

Luckily, one shoot is in the morning and the other is in the afternoon.

I "THINK" that if my energy holds up (I'm 74 and a half) I will be able to manage both shoots....

The first shoot is at a Hawk sanctuary. I attended the "Hawkwatch" a couple of years ago and went light, carrying only a single camera and my 300mm f/4L IS lens. I didn't realize how close to the presentations that I would be. This time, I will bring both my 7D cameras with 17-55mm and 70-200mm lenses. I'll also bring my 300mm...

The second event is the Vietnamese TET New Year Celebration. I have been wanting to photograph this for several years but other requirements always seemed to get in the way. I plan to use my standard combination of 17-55mm and 70-200mm lenses. These two lenses have suited my photo style all over the world. I will also bring my 12-24mm f/4 Tokina.

I'll also bring my travel tripod, in case my energy hold up long enough to shoot some night scenes.

Unfortunately, both of these events are in the same direction away from my house so I can't drop by home for a mid-day nap without backtracking on my travels. Looks like I'll be drinking some energy drinks throughout the day

I could attend Hawkwatch on another day but, I don't often have Saturdays free from my dog rescue needs... I could attend the Tet celebration on Friday or Sunday but, those days are booked with rescue business.

I hope I can stay as busy and be into something as useful when I'm 74+. Kudos.

Lucky you, just make a checklist and check it twice. Looking forward to seeing some images.

Actually, I tend to try to take a short midday nap. That is not always possible though...

    I also find a mid-afternoon and a mid-evening nap quite helpful (I'll be 75 this month)

My wife can't understand how I can get tired... But then she says, "I guess I am getting older, I'm tired"

"I asked her, did you feel this tired 4-years ago?" She answered, "No I didn't."

I mentioned, "Well four years ago, I was the age you are now (she's 70)

You have two weeks left...which one is it? My first and only grandchild will be two this coming 27th. I am not telling her parents but my gift will be a zipper to shut her up ...she speaks her own language , which is what we are still trying to find out what...she talks a lot!!!!

    Anyway, Happy Birthday!!!

Too Hot to do both these shoots. It was almost 90 F at the Hawkwatch in Ramona and I was smarter than brave and deleted the Tet celebration from my itinerary. I don't do well in the heat!

Here is a shot from Hawkwatch, I will post more on the Nature and Architecture forum...

Still a nice clear shot, Richard...I love the connection between the trainer and the bird.
