Two Towers - TD Centre
Growing up in Toronto, I remember when these towers started going up in 1967; really the beginning of the tall office towers that dominate the Toronto skyline. Designed by the famed architect, Mies van der Rohe (of Bauhaus fame), these towers are very much designed in the "international style", a modernist style of architecture.
The clear, cold day let me get a very sharp image of the buildings, reflecting other nearby office towers. I like the various angles introduced to the straight lines by the camera angle I shot with. I used a couple of filters in Nik Color Efex 2 to enhance the building details, but dialed the effect on the sky way back, almost to the point where this filter had virtually no impact on that part of the image.

If ever an image was about line and shape, then this is it. Magnificent. I love it. Stare at it and suspend knowledge that they are buildings and it becomes an abstract image. That 'shape' of sky is as alluring as the shapes of and in the the buildings.

Very effective composition Manfred, and yes it is sharp. You can see the ceiling lights inside the offices very clearly ! This image is all about the angles and the reflections.

Love shooting in that area of the city and you do that area justice.

Nicely captured, I like when reflective towers blend in with sky.

Wonderful composition Manfred... Love the way the gap between the buildings leads the eye!
