    Waterfall

Because I had a blown out sky in the image , the color version didn't look good, so I converted it to B&W by using one of the filters in SEP2.

    C&C are appreciated as always.

Hi Nandakumar. You haven't missed anything, I wasn't on line . My 15 year old dog got seriously ill on the 6th of January and unfortunatelly I lost him on the 30th of January. So, as you can imagine I'm still trying to recover from the situation.

I'm glad to see you posting again though.

Nice image, Binnur. Somehow it seems aligned in mood your reason for absence. So sorry for the loss of your friend and companion - I hope the memories of what you shared soften the pain soon.

Snap Binnur. We lost our sixteen and a half year old at about the same time and it leaves a hole. Nice to see you back. Not sure about your image. It's a little to graphic for my taste. But that's just me. Keep posting.

Thank you Mark. Actually I edited the image before but I couldn't upload it because my boy got ill. But you are right that it suits my recent mood somehow.

So sorry for your loss, I kind of guessed that was the reason for you not being on line, I do not think that you ever get over the loss but time does make it a bit more bearable

So sorry to hear about your loss John, a big hole indeed. I'm not sure about the image either. I just wanted to start posting again and I posted this one, it is one of my learning exercises about Nik Software.

    Hi Binnur,

I like the lines in this image but it's too dark/sombre for me.

It's wonderful to see you posting again, and thank you for posting that landscape link.

I'm very sorry for the loss of your dog. We lost our Shepard of 16 years about 2 1/2 years ago and we miss her greatly. To this very day on occasion I still look for her by my side when I'm out walking/hiking.

Hi Christina, sorry to hear about your loss too. As David says time makes it only a bit more bearable. Yes the image is a bit dark and gloomy indeed. I have some more images in mind to edit. I know that they may not look very good after editing but they are good for learning Nik Software, so I keep practising.

Hi Binnur, sorry for your loss, I came back and was wondering to myself where you had gone.

I really like the image, it is different to a typical B&W shot, did you add any other effects? It has a "grungy" feel to it.

    Re: Waterfall

Thanks for consoling Matt, nice to see you back too. The effect comes from the preset in Silver Efex Pro2. SEP2 is a part of Nik Software for B&W conversions . There are a lot of presets in SEP2 and I tried one of them. You might download the trial version of Nik Software if you want. Color Efex Pro which is a part of the software has a lot of filters for different effects for colored images too . Actually I concentrate more on learning the software than shooting images recently.
