Re: Week 8
Hi Nicola! You have a lot of drama going on in this image and I love it! The people add a human interest element and being as small as they are in the overall scene, they do not bother me a bit that they are not all looking at the sunset. If the scene had been predominantly about the people it may have made a difference.
The ships on the horizon beckon thoughts of travel. If there was one thing that would add to the overall scene, it would be a seagull or two lofting on the sea breezes.
I would play with the crop to see if I could get a wider aspect ratio without leaving the horizon too close to the centerline but other than that it works very well for me.
Did you get other images of this scene? I would have loved to be there with you when you captured this!

Re: Week 8
I think that crop does concentrate more on the clouds.
That last image cloud is a bit like an anvil cloud, which is supposed to be a sign of approaching thundery weather.

Re: Week 8
Hi Nicola. The crop works for me as the composition looks less crowded. The clouds look really interesting in the second image. I think there is a red lens flare on the rock at the RHS. I would clone it out. It is a nice image although the blown out sun distracts a bit.
