    Gerberas and Snow

The weather still isn't the best here for venturing outdoors for photos, so I picked up some gerbera flowers. I like to capture flowers with a black background to bring out the flower's colors. Here are a few of my attempts.

Then I went outside to join my husband. I'll be getting on the tractor in the barn.....

    Gerberas and Snow

This was yesterday. Today we have snow falling, followed by freezing rain, followed by heavy rain. G-r-r-r

    The flowers look great.

Beautiful set, with my favourite being the 2nd image for the point of view. The gorgeous colours are set off beautifully by the black background.

Thanks, Mark. I miss going outside to shot flowers! Yes, it does give my husband a pain in the neck to plow backwards, but that blower makes quick work of our driveway which is quite long.

Yes, I am also so sick of this weather. We've had the coldest February on record here. Thanks for loving the pics, Sherwood.

Everyone always wants to point their camera at the front of the flower and the back has it's own personality. Thanks for stopping and commenting. The colors brightened my day!

Donna, when you respond to a post, a certain post, it will be nice to read who you are responding to. Instead of clicking REPLY, click on REPLY WITH QUOTE instead... then GO ADVANCED to check if you have done right. It will be second nature soon enough when you respond to other posts that needed clarification and such.

Anyoldwho...Mark Knittle mentioned plowing the snowblower backwards...I thought it is strange that your husband was putting snow in your barn instead... Great shots of the flowers, Donna...I like the colour of #1 and was thinking of the #3 shot even before you showed it later and yes, #2 is nice for its texture too. Not many photographs the bottom of a flower and you did and illustrated why it appeals to you. Good ones.

Yes, I was a little slow in hitting the right reply button, but I think I have that down now Thanks for the comments on my flower shots. I do love how they look on the black background. Now, my husband isn't really blowing the snow back into that barn....he's aiming it to an area between that barn and a smaller one where we store all of our bird seed and deer corn We feed lots of critters during the winter. The feed and grain store loves to see us coming!!!

Some flowers have pretty ugly backsides, but the gerberas are very colorful. Thanks for the comments, Matt.
