    Lake Placid

Here is a photo I took a while back, I posted one of the other shots... but just found this one while going through some old ones.

Believe it or not, there is not much PP involved in this shot, the colours were surreal.

Very peaceful, Matt. I love the centered horizon; it works so well here.

Nice capture, if those warm hues were as the camera sensed them; then quite a surprise. Usually you have to extremely underexpose the image to get an image like that. Of course if you were shooting manually then that explains it.

I do like this image. What really makes this shot for me is the ring of disturbance (fish?) in the lake. This tiny facet improves the image greatly (IMO) over a still and placid Lake Placid (pun intended).

In the blueness , I can feel the cold but beautiful scene, Matt...peaceful and serene. You have a good photographic pair of eyes...

Good one Matt, I'm a fan of blue images

I find the blue is quite common with my before sunrise shots here and although can be tweaked I often prefer it left as is.

You were lucky to get that ripple just at the right time to enhance it.

Thanks for all the comments everyone! Yes that ripple was very lucky and it was a fish jumping.

This location is huge and I plan to get up there this again this weekend, weather permitting.

Beautiful shot, Matt. You were there at the right time, chose the right position for your shot and knew how to get it with your camera. The fact that you didn't do much PP involved is amazing. What a sight to behold. Thanks for posting this one.

That's really nice Matt. Perfect composition. Just needed something to differentiate top from bottom and the water disturbance does that beautifully. Nice capture.

Hi Aman, thanks for your comments

I don't have the EXIF data to hand as I am in work, but off the top of my head:

    1/8 - F8 - ISO800 - 18MM

    Lovely work Mark.

That 'slice' of peach sunset and the mirrored white cloud make a perfect 'lift' for the deep, tranquil blue and keep the eye involved.
