    Re: Locks

Nandakumar, I thought about you and your lock quest the weekend before last while I was at one of our local resell events. (Canton Trade Days) to be exact.

Anyway, I didn't have my camera but now I can't look at a lock without wanting my camera with me. This shot is from a cell phone and the locks are all vintage, and expensive. The seller was wanting in the neighborhood of $50-$80 for each of these. I got the picture for free but oh how I want some vintage old locks to shoot now! Thanks for the new venture!

It was a good exercise for me to try. "Locked up darkness" - Beautifully said. I'm going to change my inane says to yours.

I can't believe old locks can cost a lot of money to buy for collection purposes. These are great...

This is the one I was looking for -- the shot of locks in Paris. Well...it must be in one of my disk. I have almost the same shot,
Gerry, maybe not as good as this one you have...as it was a long time ago...in the early 2006.

It was originally started as a way to show your love for someone. The ''Pont des Arts'' was the first bridge to have them appear, but after many years and 10,000's of paddlocks the bridge was collapsing under all the extra weight and the local council had them all removed. But, they have been replaced my more and now also appear on some other bridges too, showing that love is stronger than politics

On most of your photos I've wished that you would have got closer and caught the intricacies of the worn locks and doors, but this one is really interesting with the contrasting blue color and red hue of the hardware. One of my favorites.
