I think this is great. The foreground light (subject and nearer) is really terrific.
Nice shot Jeff, did you build the arch yourself?
Very nice image
Good subject, Jeff. Is that snow in the upper left?
It looks like you might have been standing in the water to take this shot, but ... I also think it would have been a better shot if you had positioned yourself a bit lower.
Jeff would it have nice if you shot that sunset making the stone structure as part of your frame? No..you are going to get wet doing that ... forget about it...it is a nice shot anyway but the stone structure takes away from the subject a little bit...
OK, I am definitely not an engineer. Please, someone tell me how those darn stones are staying in place! I, too, would like to see a lower perspective. This is quite nice though, and is one example of where the centrally placed symmetrical subject seems to work.
Here is the arch from a different day's shoot

I like the new one allot better. Not just because of the better lighting and less noise from the higher ISO but I think lowering the camera got you a better contrast from your subject and the busy background. Nice!
Where did the "Maine Stone Scapes" sign go and what's the story on that?
