A gorgeous portrait! Takes me back to my days at work. Our room was separated from the adjacent lab by a large cage containing a couple of large, green iguanas. My wife described herself as 'Margaret-behind-the-iguanas'.

Despite the proximity of such photogenic beasts, I never got round to photographing them!

What is the actual size of this creature Barbara? It looks big. I like the colours and the clear details

Thanks John! I can not image looking at those mugs everyday although I would imagine they would grow on you.

Thanks Binnur! He is probably about 3 feet long with his tail maybe just a little bit more. His color is amazing I had never seen one like him, only the green ones.

Well neither my daughter nor myself are its mother. Yet we love its face. It is quite handsome in its own way. And what magnificent colours. Do you know what species? My daughter is really into lizards and wants one of these.
An excellent capture, sharp as a tack and I like the eye contact you have captured. Good post.

Thanks Ken! I tried to look up the species but did not have any luck It did say that sometimes green iguanas turn that bright orange at maturity.
