Re: Birds of Singapore
I'd choose #1, #4, #5 & #8
The reasons for passing over the others are that in #2 the shadows are a bit dark, in #3 the highlights are a bit blown out, in #6 the upper right background is a bit bright and there's no eye visible on the mother bird and I only chose #8 over #7 because I like birds in flight. There is certainly more detail to be seen in #7 so it would be just as easy to choose it.

Re: Birds of Singapore
Ok Leslie, I'm going for 1, 4, 6, & 8. I choose No 6 because it's such an unusual capture and you can deal with the bright top right and No 8 because it's a far more difficult shot to get compared to No 7.
And yes, a good series.

Re: Birds of Singapore
My choice will be #1, #3, #4 and #7 even though I think all of them are good shots on their own. I just like these for the story they told.

I like #8 best of all, then #1, #4 and #5. They are all good though.

Re: Birds of Singapore
All are worthy captures, I think 1, 2, 5, and 6 are more representative of bird interaction, while 3, 4, 7, and 8 are typical of images used for species identification.

Graham,
Thx for your comments.
I will go for #1, #4. It is tough to choose between 5 & 6 for me. Lastly, I prefer #8 because I like birds in flight as well.

Grahame,
Thank you so much.
Yes, it is rare to shoot bird at eye level.
