    Coyote

Ran into 2 coyotes this morning. This was the best of the shots, wish I had gotten a better one but they were a little far off so had to use my converter

Terrific Barbara. I never can seem to get more than a tail disappearing into some brush. I think your treatment of color and light is lovely in this one.
And the other thing: Window ledge on car door, tripod, or superhuman steady hands for this 1/395 sec shot at 420mm!

Thanks Mark! There is a pack near a State Park I visit and we had seen them only one other time. They were out in the open this morning and for the life of me I don't know why. They let me get a lot closer than I expected they would but I did stay in the car. I think it was a male and a female. The female had either just given birth or is newly pregnant as her teats were very visible. It was in the 80's here today for the first time this year and they were both visibly panting. They would walk a bit and then lay down, very strange. I hand held with my hand steadied by the window frame of the car.

Thanks Grahame! So true, I wish they made a super zoom that was light weight and affordable and while I am at it why not having flying pigs

Very nicely done, Barbara...I agree with David (deetheturk) here that it looks like it is not doing well in the heat. it looks starving to me...

If you hadn't mentioned your difficulties, I wouldn't have known. It's a nice capture Barbara.

Thanks Izzie, I am really not that familiar with them so not sure what is going on with him. I think they tend to be fairly lean.
