Nice closeup, that hat just begs to know what is on the logo. Exposure looks good, nice sharpness to the eye.

Though the photo is pleasing, especially the way it displays the man's almost blank gaze into the distance, the brim of the hat is so close to his left eye that it really nags at me. Perhaps you have a different image that doesn't have that issue. Also consider toning down the bright area in the background as it's a bit distracting.

My feelings also. This is perfect for the auto masking technique posted recently. Having said all that it is still a cracking image and I agree it would also work in mono.

The beard is the subject of this shot, I feel. If you decided to convert the image to B&W, try processing it with the aim of making the most of the beard. I'd clone out that little red thing on the top of his hat.
