Nice shot. Yesterday, one of our horses tried to bite an egret for landing too close. Very territorial. Keep the bird photos coming.
Heck Barbara, when's the book coming out. Nice image.
Barbara,
I'll post some later.
What Dean and John 2 said...it will be great to see some images of well-cared horses...
On the other hand, I like this image, Barbara...the bird is beautiful...and the pose is, very very good...on the border of excellent but if you got that brown line on his/her back straight from bill to the middle of the leg, I will go down on my knees with hands and head bowed down on the ground extolling your photographic virtue.
Er...this is not a challenge, it is just that ... a challenge.-look-alike-sounding-alike... sort of thing...
Another cracker Barbara
Wonderful capture Barbara.
Must be seen full size to fully appreciate !
You captured the bird beautifully good color and composition !
Thank you Izzie! I have missed seeing these little birds. They are the ones that sit on the backs of cattle or can be found eating in the pastures with the cows and horses. I really want a shot of one on a cow but have yet to be able to do that. They are in breeding plumage and so lovely right now.
Even though it was not your intent, I will take it as a challenge Izzie! You know I love a good challenge! That line of feathers goes away after breeding season so I only have a small window of opportunity to get it right, so even more of a challenge but I like it.
Very nice, I love the colors and details
I love it Barbara. You make it look easy. Great shot
Gorgeous shot - I particularly love the light. If the EXIF is right, the sun would be long gone up here at that time of day.
