    Hello Pat
I think it is a great pose, the picture made at the right moment; colours from light blue going to golden yellow-orange.
However, I would "eliminate" the greens on top, if feasible. IMHO they do not add to the picture - on the contrary. And then: I think your "signature" is too prominent (but I hated signatures in photographs since ever).

Yes I agree with Erwin's comment.

This is much better than any of the egret shots which I've taken recently.

Pat the pose is wonderful. Looks like he is practicing his Michael Jackson "Thriller dance".

Gorgeous picture. I particularly like the way the crest is trailing behind, and the yellow feet. The colours at the top do not bother me as much as the signature!

Nice timing, looks like the bird is hesitating.

Very nice pose, Pat...my opinion is that you caught this bird while looking at him/herself in the mirror...pretty much like Barbara Ponder's image of Mirror, Mirror...hope this one makes it to the ball.

It's a great image, the pose is fabulous. I have no particular problem with the top of the image and signatures are no problem to me, I often use them as well when posting on the net.

I know there is precious little time to compose with shots like this but I'd like a bit more room below the reflection which is just too close to the bottom of the frame. Also when shooting white birds I usually use aperture priority and set the camera to shoot about 2/3 of a stop under exposed. This goes a long way toward preventing the highlights from being blown out which has happened here in a couple of places especially under the bird's wing.

    But again a great shot.

Very nice image I would crop it from top and from RHS to make a square frame .
