This type of fungal infection is prevalent both in the Phoenix Arizona area and also in the central valley of California.
He has sent a blood sample to the lab for testing and we should get the results in a day or two.
He assures me that if this is a fungal infection, it cannot be transmitted to the other dogs living with me. The vet also took X-rays of Charlie's lungs and thankfully there is no fungal infection there.
If it is fungal related, anti fungal medication will be the treatment.
