Nicely exposed. Did you find out what they were doing?

.....yes John.... I sit with them and talked for sometime later to know something about them. I generally do that to make them comfortable. Man was getting ready to enter the sea. His wife was there with him. He went inside the water and came back after sometime with the net which was already placed there. Later what happened, here it is (SOOC shot) :

    Tejal,

Thanks for the follow up, I think subject matter works better as a series. The first is good regarding direction of light, this one for their concentration with their activity. I would add a bit of fill light to the woman's face in the second image.

Thanks John. The second image is unprocessed. Sun was on her back side, that's why it is like this. I have some more shots too of this place. I will post them in coming days .

Tejal...very nice environmental shot and of this couple too...I like it. The sea is one of my favourite places having grown up around it. John has offered you very good advice here. Run away with it.

I also saw some of the others you took of this place along with this couple and I like the shell shot very much. Good work...

Tejal - I'm afraid that this one does not work at all for me. The sky is bright and uninteresting and flat; this kind of sky will have a negative impact on virtually any shot. The shadows on your subjects are harsh and not flattering. The metadata suggests that the image was taken just before 13:00; so the results that you are getting are hardly surprising. I'm willing to be that an early morning or late afternoon shot would have worked a lot better.

The electrical towers take away from the image as well, as they really have nothing to do with what your subjects are doing.

I so enjoy all your CiC postings Tejal because you always seem to capture the human aspect of your country so beautifully. You have a good eye and obviously compassion so I look forward to seeing more of your work.

I like this shot, Tejal. I may be completely wide of the mark, but I think the harsh lighting works with the bare sand and blank sky to convey the idea of a hard existence for this couple. So then the power pylons in the distant background act as a counterpoint between their lifestyle and modernity.... But I wonder about the hardhat ...

Thanks Manfred for your valuable feedback. The pic was taken at 8:22 am in winter. Here winters too, after sun rise, light is through out the year except monsoon, in cloudy days. For you suggestions, I will take care
