    Solace in the solitude.

I find great peace when I get the chance to get away from it all. The wife and kids get left behind for a while and I disappear in the tent for a few days. Here is a few of the scenes I managed to see. Any and all comments or critique welcome.

All very nice, so real that I can feel the fresh air and hear the sound of the waterfalls

Wow, what a great looking location and you have captured it well.

I'm a little lost on what is going on in #4.

Very nice set Chris. The first one is the stand-out for me because it is such a strong and balanced composition. The last is a very pleasant scene.

The vegetation looks very similar to here in Tasmania Chris, the first three are very nice images well put together.
#4 I'm still trying to make my mind u, and only because I watched Jurassic park recently the log looks to me like one of the screen shots of a Brontosaurus head and neck as it passes over.
Though that could be my strange imagination at times
My pick of the series is the last I just find it a very pleasant image though I would clone out the two blades of grass protruding up in the centre of the image, I find especially the tallest one keeps drawing my eye and a bit distracting.

I like the light and shadow in # 2.
And the fact that the waterfall doesn't look like someone dumped a few gallons of milk in it

Nice series, Chris...I am with Greg that I prefer the last image best but for a different reason -- I am not a fan of smooth waterfalls scenes.

Thank you Binnur. The weather was very changeable so getting the shots was a challenge. One minute the sun was splitting the trees so I had to wait for the clouds to come to diffuse the light. I very much enjoyed just sitting around at the water fall. Thanks for looking.

Hi Jim. Number four was just a practice shot. I thought I would just upload it anyway. You see I have been trying to get some woodland shots with the sun coming through the trees creating the star burst effect in the top left hand side. That is a huge tree branch that you see at the top of the image. When I took the image I thought it would look better but it is a bit odd looking. Thanks for looking and commenting.

Hello Greg. Yes you are right. I think I should clone out the distracting blades of grass and I think you are also correct about number four. It seemed like a good Idea at the time.

    Thank you for commenting Vaez.

The camera that I shot these photos on is a Nikon D7100 with a Sigma 10-20mm lens.

Lovely shots. I found them very interesting as I have loads of waterfall shots from my recent trip to Scotland and like you experimented with the type of shot I wanted. I still haven't worked out which are my favourites though- yours have helped me decide I don't need a favourite and how I shot them at the time is just OK
