Re: Snake on a Log
Yes, good focus on exactly the right area; and the exposure is well constrained.

Re: Snake on a Log
Great shot, garter snakes are pretty docile and easy to handle...most of the times (note - their saliva has some anti-coagulating properties, not a bad bite but they do like to hang on for a bit and you end up with a nice imprint of their teeth and some bleeding. Don't ask...)

Re: Snake on a Log
You were fortunate to have (or waited for) a nice composition there Jim,
I did wonder about the Log mentioned in the title, then I identified the bark and leaves and was happy - perhaps I was expecting a snake 'draped' over a more identifiable log
+1 to other positives already mentioned.
Well done, Dave

Re: Snake on a Log
What is it in my (our?) psyche that makes me uncomfortable with snakes. Great shot, particularly good composition, but ...........Ugh!

I love snakes, fascinating creatures. Have to be treated with respect. Here in Tasmania they all kill you if you're unlucky.
Wonderful photo Jim, well done
