green sweat bee on a dahlia

Happened to see two of these this morning. Much larger than some of the other sweat bees, although much smaller than honeybees. Unfortunately, I scared them off. 100mm macro, 48mm extension, & my default bug-hunting settings, 1/125, f/13, diffused flash.

Dan...my extension tube is only up to 36mm...how did you make yours into 48mm? Is that tube another separate accessory? It has very impressive close-up-ness...and this goes with your green bees too...impressive.

Thanks, all. Yes, I use a Kenko extension tube set (12mm, 20mm, 36mm), and they can be stacked in any combination. I have the full 68mm on the camera now.

    Nice iridescence, Dan.

I still remember your correction in this post:

Bluebottle fly shot and rendering intent.

I have only used my extension tube one at a time...do you stack them at any random position or does it have to be from lowest to highest number from the camera body or vice versa. I am still a greenie in the use of stacked extension tube...help me...please...
