Watching the sun go down in Geaorgian Bay.

This series shows the sun set in Georgian Bay. In the first shot I waited for the sun to fall behind a tree, trying to avoid washing out details near the sun.

Nice set of images Joe, wonderful colours and looks like you have a bit of cleaning to do, few dust bunnies there

I think the last two without the sun actually being present work best for me.

I have quite a few shots like this series taken from Florida and all morning shots but not sunset....this one is so beautiful and I love the colours. I like #6 best of all...as the colours had changed to something more subtle...

Nice series. Think the last two are best.

Thanks Jim. My fave is #4 with the sun just peeping over the horizon.

Thanks Izzie. I see your point. I, none the less, like the shot #4 with the sun just peeking over the horizon. Maybe I could soften the colours in #4 and have the best of both worlds.....?

No...that is OK...I like that one too but the merging of the light in #4 is just oh..so right? It just tells me some other environmental scenes that are nice to photograph that will be suitable for the extra 4 or 10 minutes going to the night...

Is there a link posting error Joe?

The "last two" (#5 and #6) are actually both the same image; http://i58.tinypic.com/6rpz4i.jpg

Also, I was thinking it would be cool if the major features were aligned such that when going between them with arrow keys in Lytebox, the sun moved and everything else (apart from boats, etc.) stayed put.

Did you move shooting position between #1 and #2?

I, none the less, like the shot #4 with the sun just peeking over the horizon.
I also quite like #4 for the slither of sun still visible.

    thanks, Dave

    Tanks Dave:
Not sure how that happened. They should have been different; that was my intent. Anyway.....
I agree it would have been nice to have the shots synced as you suggest, except for two things:
    1. I don't know how, and
    2. I did move around a bit as I was shooting, to avoid other sunset viewers who got in the way. Had I planned this better, I would have set up my tripod and laid claim to my territory early.

I should learn how to sync these and perhaps next time I would be better prepared.

Yikes! I did not notice them. Have now spent days going through my shots from that day cleaning up the spots, and there were lots! Thanks for pointing them out. Really a case of ' a stitch in time.....'
