I really like it Ziggy. Nice details in the petals. More detail in the shadows would be nice but this doesn't spoil the image. My eyes are drawn to the lovely flower petals.

    Thanks all.

Trish, agree about maybe lighting up the shadows just a little.

I love the composition and it answers the question that I posed in another thread, here, about flowers being shown in B & W.

It may have been quite intentional and, if so, ignore the following, but I wonder if it could use a bit more pop, injected by a shifting of the white point and a small dose of LCE (Local Contrast Enhancement). I will, if I may, illustrate what I mean (if not acceptable let me know and I'll take it down). But just something to think about.

Donald thanks for taking the time to edit the image. I like what you did. Sometimes I think I stay on the darker side instead of bringing up the light.

Lot of good eyes on this forum and I learn from feedback like this.

Your image is very nice, Ziggy...I was looking at my geranium yesterday (when it was not raining) and thought of what sort of format conversion it will be nice to show it at. You've just answer my question too. Thank you for that...and Donald's edit makes it more brighter.

Really nice. Have you thought of shooting it as a slightly higher angle and thereby making the unopened petals in your shadows more out of focus?
