Nicely captured and converted. Is that the natural orientation?

That's a nice conversion Jim whatever it is but I can't help wanting to know what colour it is.

    Re: Thing

Given the almost abstract approach of monochrome Jim, I think I would be tempted to 'go the whole hog' and clone out the leaves on the right, so all we see is the "Thing".

... although there's a part of me that thinks as my eyes travel along the stem (l-r) to leave the image, those leaves divert them back again.

Good choice of which bit is sharpest, that's always tricky when there's not enough DoF, but I think you chose well here.

I rather like the orientation of the stem to be on either side or the centre...for me that is all it needs...

    Izzie and Binnur little confused.

Are you suggesting I rotate 90 degrees?

Put the stem on one of the corners either left or the right...or on the centre...about 45°down to the right. Then try centre-ing the stem or try the stem on the left corner...

I meant 'rotating the image 90 degrees clockwise' Jim , but it might also be a good idea to try other suggestions made by Isabel to see how they work
