    Suggestions for improving water photos

    I am enjoying taking more photos of moving water either in isolation, such as the attached photo, or as part of a larger landscape and would appreciate constructive criticism on how to improve my photos.

    Thanks for your ideas.

    Try the same scene with a different shutter speed, may not make it to your liking but it will be different.

    It's kinda a crap shoot...what water flow requires what shutter speed for your personal taste.
    Higher gallons per minute would require a slower SS and vice versa.

    As mentioned above, your shutter speed for moving water is a matter of personal taste; and I'm very much in the fast shutter for crisp clean water or surf camp.

    However, well blurred water like this image often gets good scores in the photo competitions.

    That scene looks OK with regard to focus and exposure.

    Mike, I agree with Geoff but there are those who think otherwise.

    Me for instance...I never like milky smooth water shots at all...there are some exceptions though when one mixes both in the same shot, but how? I do not want to know...
