Why didn't I see this thread before They both lovely . The first one is a very nice image with lovely colors and the second one is a great abstract. I would try to add some blur towards horizon in the first one for a better transition between the water and sky.

Sadly, I also overlooked the thread. Both images are terrific but I find it difficult to enjoy an abstract when it is paired with such a similar realistic image. Try posting such similar images in different threads to determine if it helps the psychological impact on the viewers.

Not to worry, your, and Mike's, comments more than make up for it...thank you'll.
    My tenacity sometimes bears fruit.

As a side note...I'm six months from graduating high school and my counselor said that I'd
never amount to anything. Fast forward to my 20 year reunion, all I remember is all those
folks saying,"you actually put people to sleep for surgery, WOW". More currently, my oldest
son got heaps ofkudos from his VP's at work when they discovered the adopted children in our home.
Now, I'm getting the same things from you guys. You do humble me.

Never penned that story before...just needed to say it...maybe for posterity.

And yet another late comer to the thread. I really like both images Chauncy. The first I like the light and colours the second I really like as an abstract.

Just imagine what they would say if they saw your creative photos made of smoke.

When I was in the Army Band in my early twenties, the career sergeant I reported to told me that if I didn't change my ways I would end up in "the poor house." Within one year after I left the Army Band, which happened as soon as legally possible while also getting an honorary discharge, I learned that all the guys who wanted to get out but were too afraid to have to compete in the real world were constantly referring to the fact that I was doing just fine. Fast forward 25 years after I had retired the first time at the age of 50. A controversial subject came up at a company-wide meeting at my last employer. I learned that an employee stood up and said, "What would Mike Buckley say about this?" It was probably the best compliment I ever received and I wasn't even there at the time to hear it. As for that Army sergeant, I never changed my ways except for the possibility that in his eye I probably changed for the worse.
