A picture is worth a thousand words... C&C welcomed

I was asked to second shot a charity event this past weekend that is for seriously ill children. To say it was an amazing experience would be an understatement. The event involved a convey of trucks (500) that the children could go on a several mile ride in. Most of the children selected the fire trucks and emergency vehicles. As they were leaving all the vehicles were blowing their horns and sounding their sirens. It was something else. In addition to the trucks, they had pony rides, characters the children could visit with, etc. For the most part, I didn't photograph the children as it felt too intrusive. If I caught something special than that was a different story... here is one such image (there was something truly special about this child).

That's really touching Kim. How did you manage to persuade him to wear orange. With the black and white of the characters, it's perfect. Problem is, that little boy is going to be forever confused as to who the bad guys are.

Thank you all for your comments. I'm glad that the image made you feel the same as it did me. The really nice thing is that someone sent the image to the Mom and she just loves it (she sent me a note last night). It made my heart smile.

Raymond, I'm ok that I didn't get the front of the child's face. I like that it's a profile of both of them, it was very important to me that I handled the images in a sensitive manner, and the emotion was there for me...

Late to this circus as usual, Kim...but I too like that special moment you caught with that child. His clothes really nailed it with that black and while characters. John's comment made me smile too...

John, there are no bad guys...just characters...

Thanks Izzie :-) Orange was the color for the event... so I got lucky. UPS sponsored the shirts; they were an amazing Corp Sponsor.

I also see a splash of blue on the child's top. It occurs to me that it is the same/similar orange and blue which are used by the International Leukemia Foundation, which is a very worthwhile foundation to support.
