Another well taken shot Matt. I'm always amazed at the amount of vegetation growing on the rocks.
Another beautiful fall, Matt. I'm not crazy about how dark the foreground is which hides what looks like wonderful detail there. I realize it's a style you're going for but may be better employed where there's something to hide rather than hiding something that's there to see. Just a thought.
And glad you made it back up. As damp as you were that would have been a cold night
Nice capture.
Wonderful three-dimensional look!
I'm curious about your requirement to shimmy down to an area to capture this very effective composition. In America, exiting the trails is highly discouraged for ethical reasons having to do with trampling on the natural growth (and I suspect for legal reasons). Having done a bit of traveling, I know some countries share that attitude and others don't. What is the official thinking about that in Wales?
Just beautiful! I would not change a thing!
I wish I was there.
Thanks Mike, there's nothing really like that in Wales (I think its the same for the rest of the UK). We have a thing called Freedom to Roam (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_to_roam)
This area is famous for being used for caving, potholing and gorge-walking.
I think the sort of unwritten rule is to leave an area as you found it.
Thanks Dan, I was pretty dry at this point though
With regards to the foreground I had the same thinking as you, but its a pretty accurate image.
I took the shot from under an overhanging cliff that was covered with thick canopy of trees, the only source of light coming in was the gap in the forest over the waterfall.
Another nice one Matt. It's great to see you really working this place. I have favourite places in County Wicklow I return to with camera to see how my visual awareness has changed. It's always fascinating to see and capture things I missed on previous visits.
Just one suggestion here (and I can see what your intention was), I think I wouldn't have darkened the left side so much, perhaps even just the water part.
Beautiful calm atmosphere well captured.
If I'm ever over that way I shall contact you for the coordinates.
Great composition and colors Matt I agree with Neville about the left part being a bit too dark, I like the darkness there but may be not that much.
