    Yee-haw! I've got them back.

I cannot see any marks on the body of the camera, battery grip or lens. The shutter and the mirror are as smooth and quiet as they were before. I think these guys have really done a superb job. As I wrote much earlier in this thread, I really thought that the lens at least (if not everything) would have been a total write-off. Again, it seems to show that these things are built like tanks.

    The moral of this tale?

    1. Never try to find out how high your camera will bounce on a paved pathway.
    2. When you think you've secured your camera on a tripod, STOP! Check it before you let go your grip of the camera.

Congratulations Donald, I'm looking forward to seeing some images from the repaired kit. Please try not to repeat the disaster

As the guy in the repair centre said to me this morning, "This is the sort of thing you only do once in your life."
