Yee-haw! I've got them back.
I cannot see any marks on the body of the camera, battery grip or lens. The shutter and the mirror are as smooth and quiet as they were before. I think these guys have really done a superb job. As I wrote much earlier in this thread, I really thought that the lens at least (if not everything) would have been a total write-off. Again, it seems to show that these things are built like tanks.
The moral of this tale?
- Never try to find out how high your camera will bounce on a paved pathway.
- When you think you've secured your camera on a tripod, STOP! Check it before you let go your grip of the camera.
