A Day at the Races

I must admit, that I have never been to a horse race - that is, until today. Each year in September, our town has a race day. All of the local businesses close their doors for half a day, and most folks, go to the races. Today was the first time that my wife and I had joined them, and of course, I took my camera.

That looks like a fun/interesting event to shoot. I really like the action in no.1 though IMO it would have been much better with a cleaner BG. The stuff at upper left muddles it a bit.

The experience has left me wanting more. I don't think I'll be waiting until next year, I'm guessing they have other events regularly scheduled that should provide me with more opportunities for practice.

Well done Chris, it is something I would love to do, I go to a lot of school kid Equestrian events, but would love to image the racehorses as they turn for home!
Everyone who is trying to learn has rejects, so don't worry about that, particularly in Sport.
