Landscape from a hot summer day

I shot this image in mid August and I wasn't happy with the photos I shot that day since the shooting conditions weren't very good. So, this is one of the best of them after some PP work.

    C&C appreciated

Nicely done, very good contrasting colors. Would have loved to viewed this without the foreground shrubbery.

I like the shrubbery, very nice image... I wish I could view it larger though!

Nice location well taken. Just enough wind to give some nice movement to the water.

Cool shot Binnur. Are there drought conditions in this area? Noticed the water line on the banks.

Nice shot Binnur. Perhaps a little too saturated for me but that's a matter of personal taste.

    Thanks for the comments

Kim, the water level is low in mid summer in the lake and that's why the other part of the lake which can't be seen in the photo is also swampy and there are warnings for people to walk carefully.

John (2), yes I'm a bit fond of strong colors.

John , the FG bushes act like a framing and creates a kind of curve to help the shape of the lake, that's why I added them in the scene. I have some closer shots without the bushes but they don't look very interesting.

Very nice composition, Binnur. I also find the colour a bit too saturated for my taste, but I do not mind the foreground shrubbery in the least.

Thanks for looking and commenting Janis I like a bit saturated colors in landscape shots. I think it is because I watch a lot of landscape images with strong colors on the internet. I like less saturated colors in foggy/misty shots though.

The shoreline does seem a bit on the over bright side to me. I suspect if the brighter end of that area was slightly toned down the other areas wouldn't appear to be so saturated.

Thanks for looking and commenting Geoff That is the sunny part of the lake because of the direction of the light.I usually like strong colors in my images but I also prefer them for this image because it is a very still scene with no dramatic clouds or no running water. So, IMO strong colors give life to the image.

A pleasant scene and well balanced Binnur.

I can see why you have 'popped' this one a bit to give it more impact but perhaps a bit too far at the foreground where a greenish hue is seen behind the foliage.

Ah Grahame, I already knew that your very careful eyes would notice it But that doesn't come from increasing the saturation. As I said in my first post the shooting conditions weren't good at all, where I was standing (the FG) was completely in shade. So I used reflector /skylight/sunlight filters in CEP4 to make that area look better and those filters created some hue which I mostly brushed out but couldn't manage to erase behind the foliage. When I looked at the good job the filters did , I decided to bear with the small amount of hue in return What I actually learnt by shooting this image is that ' it is better not to shoot an image if the conditions are not good'. But in mid August it is really difficult to find nice shooting conditions because even at sunset time the light is so harsh. Thanks for looking and commenting. I hope your life will be less busy and we will see your images and comments more often

I also like the shrubbery, I like its golden colour, it looks like the sun was catching it

Thanks for looking and liking Rachel. As I mentioned in post #15 I used some filter effects in CEP4 for the FG as it was all in shade and I like the golden colour too. Filters in CEP4 are not only creative but also life saving in some situations

Thanks for looking and commenting Isabel I knew the colors would look a bit too much to CinC members as CinC is mainly a teaching/learning community and tries to keep main rules and standards. Strong colors are usually my personal preference in landscape scenes, but I also like the foggy/misty scenes with faded colors.
