    Shine a light

This is one from June 2014 which I've only just processed, the light and the approaching storm with the valley/pass (Glen Tarrbert) through the high ground on the other side of the Loch was what caught my eye.
This type of light isn't my normal style but I thought I would give this an airing to see what peoples thoughts on it were.
We were only visiting a nearby hotel for something to eat, hence I only had the camera with me, no tripod so it was more of a snapshot really.

I like it Peter. I would crop half of the water as it doesn't add to the composition very much though

    Re: Shine a light

Thanks Binnur, Jim and Wm, here is a coup;e of quick edits (the edits were quick the export from LR to Flickr weren't) Ive taken on the crop suggestion and also created a BW conversion.

    #2 The suggested crop

    Shine a light

#3 The B&W conversion on the cropped image. This genre of processing isn't something that I've carried out before so hopefully someone will be along with some advice/comments on this one.

Hi Peter, I can't see the color version, I don't know why BnW looks nice but IMO it is oversharpened. The water looks very crisp and there are sharpening halos on the edges of the hills and trees. Otherwise it is a very nice image

It should be back now Binnur I had updated on the image Flickr to remove some dust bunnies, which dropped the link in my post, sorry about that.
Thanks for the feedback on the b&W I have no doubts that the sharpening artefacts that you see in the image here are something to do with uploading images to CiC via Flickr. It maybe due to my crop and then my saving for the web again, as well as the CiC-Flickr issue
