Very good shot considering that the main image was shot with the glass enclosure. Did you use a polarizer here?
Good example. However, be reminded that it's likely that you could probably have gotten everything in focus by using a smaller aperture with or without using a higher ISO value and probably without creating any additional noise even if you had used a higher ISO value.
That will come with experience. Be sure to remember that the depth of field is the result of a combination of three factors: focal length, aperture and distance to subject. If you change any one of those factors, much less two or all of them, the depth of field will change.
