Very good shot considering that the main image was shot with the glass enclosure. Did you use a polarizer here?

Good example. However, be reminded that it's likely that you could probably have gotten everything in focus by using a smaller aperture with or without using a higher ISO value and probably without creating any additional noise even if you had used a higher ISO value.

Yes, Izzie....I did use a polarizer....Had to buy a new one, as all of my screw on filters were too small.

Thanks, Mike....I'm still getting used to using this lens, I have not gotten a good handle on the relationship between aperture and dof quite yet....working on it though

That will come with experience. Be sure to remember that the depth of field is the result of a combination of three factors: focal length, aperture and distance to subject. If you change any one of those factors, much less two or all of them, the depth of field will change.
