Very nice shots. We do not have these Herons in Aus. I love the colours and your captures are great. It always a pleasure to see something new. Thanks for sharing these.

They are really nice Otávio. You might like to try a tighter crop on no.2 if it will take a little extra sharpening. I really like no.5 and would certainly try a tighter crop on it.

The difference between this bird and the blue heron, quite common in Ireland, is interesting with that very attractive beak.

I guess you used your 70-300 for these. A great and often underrated lens. Did you also use your 2X converter.

I'm another person that's never seen such a colourful Heron before.

As you say, with wildlife, we rarely get a choice of background and have to take what's there.
You could possibly do some blurring in PP with the sharpest leaves (below the chest) in #1, perhaps also in #3.

Did you sharpen the whole image, or selectively? If not selectively, that may help.

    Never-the-less, a good series.

    Thanks, Dave
Hello, Dave. Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. I sharpened the whole image and will give it a try. It looks like nobody here in CIC (that includes me) never saw this beauty before. Regards,

Hi, Izzie. Thanks for passing by. As per your request, I have included some Exif data over each image. I was about 10 meters from him when I shot these. Then, he flew away...

Some excellent points already mentioned above so no point repeating.

Excellent series, sharp where sharp needs to be (bif excepted. hehe). Well done.

I will leave alone the never ending discussion about clean backgrounds and backgrounds that show the animal in its true environment.
Dear friend, it is good hearing from you again. Thanks for your comments!

PS.: You live in a GREAT country, with so many photography opportunities!

    Cheers,

Hi, Neville. Thanks for your feedback. Yes, I used the 70-300, which is really a great lens. I did not use the TC (actually I have a 1.4x instead of a 2.0x). Cheers,
