I really like the pose/attitude of the birdy & composition of the bird and branch, for some reason though & not to send you even more craazy but I'm just not 100% convinced about the colours of the bird and perch 'going' together.
Sorry if I'm not making sense!

Apart from what Kay said about the coordination of colours, I think it looks good for a three hour job.

Taken at face value as an image, it works for me.

    Re: Pastel Perch

Many thanks for the comments. Sorry not to reply sooner, I have been otherwise occupied.

This was two shots that were composited in PS. The bird was on the branch, the colours of the flowers are as captured. The problem was, whilst framing the shot, I realised that the end of the branches (camera right), would not fit into the frame. So, I took a second shot that included the flowers at the end of the branch - which, of course meant that the bird was not where I would like it.

Compositing the two shots was a breeze in PS. However, I had recently purchased some overlay actions from Jessica Drossin and thought that this image was a good opportunity to try them out. This is when the time consuming part began.

Her PS Action Packages provide so many choices, that it took me nearly three hours to decided which combination of overlays to use. Of course, I sampled each one individually, and then began combining them.

If you have ever tried this, you will know that after viewing the image dozens of times with slightly different colour tones, coupled with a degree of tiredness, can lead to colour burn-out - in the artist - not the image!

Anyway, this is what I settled on.

Thanks to those who said that the image seemed acceptable to them. And I hope the paragraphs above, answer those who had questions.

I'm a bit late for this thread but I just want to say that I really like the bird and have no problem with the flowers
