FINALLY the rain stopped...

The rain finally stopped earlier (although its back again now) and at the perfect time... sunset.

I jumped in the car and drove to the location and managed to get this This glow last all of about 30 seconds then it went dark again and I felt the rain drops.

Taken by putting my tripod on the roof of my car, so approx 12ft up!

Beautiful Matt. The road wandering into the distance pulls me along with it. Your control of lighting in post processing just gets better and better.

Ansel Adams used to put his tripod on a platform on the roof of his car. So, looks like you are on the right track!

I really like shots showing the reflections off wet roads and sidewalks and most of mine seem to end up being night shots. I really like the way you caught that ribbon of light of the setting sun lighting along the edge of the road. It really pulls the viewer's eyes right into the centre of your image.

I always try to stand around the edge of the roof where its a bit more solid, I was thinking of taking my boots off but it was far too cold!

Two friends of mine, way way back at the beginning of time when we were all young, used a car roof tent for weekend trips to the country. They were settling down for a good night's sleep when the car began to move steadily down the hill!

The rest was panic.
