Nice set
I like the idea of shooting the tracks.
[ Just a few thoughts: If they were mine I would try - for the first, a square crop from the top down to have less of the out-of-focus foreground; for the second, a more drastic crop so that the tracks emerge from the bottom corners of the frame; for the third, a slight clockwise rotation; and for all, a bit more punch to the contrast and autumn colours.]
Cheers.
Philip
Raymond this is a nice series, but I disagree with Philip about his suggestion of the second one for the crop because I like it the way it is..
I tend to your opinion , but always great to here other perspectives .
Hi Raymond,
I was going to suggest both crops Philip has.
It always worries me when I see the nails lifting from the shoes on track, but it seems to be a widespread problem
Stay safe and legal (while shooting), Dave
Nice set, Ray. I really like that first one. I don't know if it is the shiny surface or the blur, or maybe a combination of both , but it makes me feel as though I am travelling down that track.
Bejeezzbub, Ray! Did you even stop to look at the train schedule as to when it is going to pass by that track first? Sometimes, you guys worry me about being a photographer who lies down on railroad tracks for instance, or such dangerous activities in the line of enemies' firing line...Simply could not resist the opportunity to lay down on the tracks to get these captures.
We should have a discussion about where railway tracks lead to. Seriously, I like the series. I do agree with Philip and Dave. Sorry Izzie.
Cheers Ole
With those spiked plates the rails will start to creak and squeak for a mile or more before a train gets there. The trains push a "bubble" ahead of them. That is what lifts the spikes like Dave mentioned. I have spent most of my life living close to trains Now the new concrete ties are bolted to the rails and don't make the same warning sounds.
Hi....I like the first image very much........and I am glad no train was coming
Griddi....
Nice images Raymond,Nice images. I like them the way they are but also the way Philip suggested.
I like the lighting On the rails. perfect defuse light for railroad tracks.
