    Murray Street, Niagara Falls

Hello all, new guy here. This if my first photo post here, so be gentle please!

I took this shot in Niagara Falls, Canada, on my first trip using my new D5100, and it's one of the first ones I'm proud of. Hope you like it.

The scene is very nice but both buildings on each side at the top need to be straightened, don't you think? I cannot see your EXIF so I really not know what to say...

I like the perspective. I agree with Izzie, it needs straightened.

The basic EXIF is displayed on the Flickr page.
    Nikon d5100 w/ 18-55mm kit lens
    ISO 100
    f/10
    13 sec
    AWB
    18mm
I can upload the file to a gallery here if that makes it easier?

Never noticed that the buildings weren't plumb, not sure how to do such a thing. I use PSE14.

This is such a nice composition that it would be worth the trouble to revisit the scene just after dusk when the sky is still dark blue and has not turned to black.

To learn where in your software you can correct the perspective distortion, use a Help menu to look up "perspective" or "distortion." Your software definitely has the required tool.

I believe I used Picasa for basic crop and color, but I've since got (just a couple weeks ago) Photoshop Elements 14, so I'll try and rework the original a bit.

That is a very nice image, well done. Once the buildings are straightened it will be even better.

Your latest revision has nailed the vertical lines.

If I could, i would propose another edit. Look at cutting around 15% - 20% off the bottom of the image. While the sidewalk provides the leading lines to move the viewer's eyes into the image, it isn't a particularly interesting element. I suspect you will have an even stronger image by eliminating an element that is not that picturesque, without loosing its ability to draw the viewer's eyes. I would do the cut at the point where the railing on the railing runs into the stonework on the right.

The blue tones that you added to the sky look very artificial to me.

Second edit. Not sure where the blue tones came from.

Nicely composed shot. Final edit for me. The crop finishes it off nicely.

You nailed it with that final crop. The two changes; straightening the buildings and a bit of a crop takes this shot from being a decent shot to a great shot.
