    Hi Rob,

I'm in the same boat. Recently got the camera, and trying different things.

I find that the more shots I take, the more discerning I become about the shots I take.

Take all the shots you can but be the most harsh critic that you have. I'm currently working on a "Would I blow that up and pay to frame it" regime. If I wouldn't, I delete it. ( Well I try to delete them, but I love some of my failures too.)

Love the Silver Eye, and the first Galah.

You have an eye for it.

Nice series, indeed. When I first saw the title of your thread, I mumbled to myself, "poor soul". I rarely shoot on a sunny day if I've any choice, and avoid like the plague the midday sun due to the harsh, colorless light and the miserable contrast and shadows that we have to fight SOOC and in PP. So I was surprised how pleasingly you pulled off a pretty tough assignment. Good job.

I think you managed well the sunshine; very nice images; i specially liked the first image; in the second image you could have used a greater depth of field; as of now only one third part is sharp and the rest is oof. Bird images are excellent

I think with a shot like #2, you should have used matrix metering to show the road too a bit more and a smaller F number for a nicer depth of field....I would have like to see the road with the grapes too. I like the expression on the faces of your 4 legged animal shots. Keep shooting...and learn how to use the back button of your camera.

    Thanks Izzie,
Ok, I took this one but didn't really like the angle on the final image. Which is better?

I reckon you could have shot wider to include the side of the road to line up at the left too...to form pretty much like a perspective shot...that would have been good to the eyes...or do you have a wider enough shot?

I will look for your reply tomorrow...I am going back to bed...it is just after 5:3am here and I am still awake...getting crosseyed just keeping up with the posts...
