Hi Tejal - I was out of town for a few days and didn't have time to offer my thoughts on one of my favourite sites in Bhutan.

I don't like the B&W at all. I find that you have lost some of the key characteristics that make these fortified Bhutanese monasteries so special and that is the the colours used on the buildings and the beautiful setting this one is situated in. I'll be quite frank, I wasn't totally happy with my images of this place either, but that was more related to my not being able to get the shot I wanted.

What isn't working for me in this shot is that the crop is too tight and the building itself seems too cramped and the bathers in the river don't really have a significant impact on the image. I find that you are trying to do to much in this capture and it is simply not working for you, as well as it might.

I took a slightly different approach, and while I am not all that happy with the image, it does convey a different feeling and view from yours.

Thanks Manfred for your comment. I wanted to take a wide range shot of the dzong but field was not supportive. I have a shot which was taken froma far distance, I will share that very shortly. Your image was taken from a gud angle btw.

I am with Richard...both looks good. Your last edit of the B/W turns up so well considering that you have a good shot of the coloured version...
