I like #1 and #2 here although I prefer #1 much better...the texture, the cloud and the perspective all looks perfect. Colour is a nice touch too, but too much colour...just natural but since you got all the elements of being able to convert this to B/W, it really suits this scene very much.

#3 is perfect, what can I say?! The composition and the framing is excellent apart from the pp.

    #4 is nice too...

If I am to chose only one, I couldn't. Sorry...but all of them are great shots.

Thanks Izzie - good to know what you think. I appreciate the complements. It is interesting that Manfred indicated that #2 was not overly colorful. Perhaps I did go a bit heavy on the vibrance.

No...it is OK, just that I prefer the B/W version...sometimes what we see and how we see it trying to remember what we saw at the time is the key even if it cannot compare to the reality of nature...keep shooting...you are doing better than I do...

Nice images but I would like you to try reducing the luminescence of the yellows in doing the B&W conversion of the first photograph. The yellow foliage behind the front row of trees on the right hand side become so light they make it look as if it is light sky behind the trees. If the yellows were portrayed as darker tones I think it would improve the image. It should also darken parts of the valley and a patch under the trees all of which may benefit by being darker. It will depend on what PP software you have as to how it is done and how good the result can be.

    Hi Paul,

In the edit below (edit #1) I significantly reduced the yellow luminescence and slightly reduced the green and red. This did not have an effect on the valley so I slightly reduced the exposure in that region. I also added a bit more contrast to the lower right area.

Thanks for your suggestions. Best regards, Sam

    Edit #1:

    North Mountain

Sam, please keep the chronology while posting.... Otherwise it may bring confusions... for instance i commented "Last image is a killer". People may not notice your time of edit....

Sam, this is more pronounced. I like it each time I linger over to look at it.

Thanks Izzie - I applied Paul's suggestion and a few other tweaks which gave it more definition.

The image has 3D feeling with your edit Sam and it looks better. And yes, I like your BnW images
