    mother and child-3

Taken at during the Christmas season in 2014 when my wife and I took our oldest two Granddaughters to an indoor amusement park here in Toronto.
A large audience was watching a mini-circus and I noticed a young woman holding her child as they watched the show.
I liked the composition and grabbed this shot.

Although I cannot see her eyes, for me it's not a bother, I know they're there. I too like the composition and the expression on the child's face.

Your images remind me of the days I shot film and had no immediate control over the ISO I was using, other than pushing or pulling a stop or two (or changing the roll of film I was shooting)

I sometimes forget how freeing it is to be able to dial in an appropriate ISO or even to use auto ISO...

    Thanks John.
What I especially liked about the scene was the Mona Lisa-like smile on the mother's face.
She seemed to be so serene and content, which was what drew me to take the shot.

    Sergio,
    Thanks for commenting.
When I was doing my post-processing I used the Highlight/Shadow function and if I took it to extremes, could tease out more eye detail, but destroyed the rest of the image.
Besides I rather like it as it is. There is enough detail under the caps brow to see her eyes looking downward and for me that is enough.
    Richard,
Doesn't bother me a bit. I love the grain (which the Digivolk now call "noise" with the greatest of disdain), and don't feel constrained in my type of shooting by not being able to dial up to ISO six Zillion.
Most of my photography is done in daylight where ISO 100 and reasonably high-speed lenses as necessary do the trick for me.
And for those times that I shoot indoors, I can use my faster stocks pushed one or two stops, or if I really felt the need, drag out a flash.
    Thanks for commenting.
