All very nice images Isabel (Again I'm the first one to comment ) Did you use heavy vignettes for those images as they are a bit too dark on the parts closer to the corners and edges ? If so, I would fix it. IMo #3 needs a bit more contrast and brightness adjustments.#3 and #4 are my favs compositionally.

Yes I was wondering about the corners, particularly the foreground which appears to be slightly out of focus on #2 and 3.

But otherwise, very tricky scenes which have been well handled with difficult exposures working well.

Izzie, I have nothing to add to the comments by Binnur and Geoff except that my favourite is #2. It has good contrast and is a very interesting image.

Looks like a lovely place, Izzie. I wonder if there is a real story of heartbreak behind the lake's name or if that was just someone's fanciful invention, based on the lake's shape. (I read in Wikipedia that is an ox-bow lake.)

Anyhow, +1 to Binnur and Geoff's comments.

Hope the flippers are working for you sooner than later, but don't rush things.

First of all, thank you for looking and commenting and also the suggestions. No they are not vignettes. I enlarged the size of the edges in Darken/Brighten center in Color Efex before I realized that I would try Black and White. Loaded it in Silver Efex and moved some sliders then went down to try which colour filter will make it brighter. Green did...then I applied the Selenium effect.

As I had explained in my response to Binnur...I thought by using Darken/Brighten Center in Color Efex, I would concentrate the view to the center more by leaving the edges dark. On the other hand, perhaps I had touched that Burnt Edges all or something in Silver Efex...I should stop using that..

Thank you for your response. Appreciate it very mcuh...

Thank you for commenting Bruce...I did about 30 shots of different angles and zooms before I got tired and cold. So when we went to our hangar, I ended up falling asleep in the couch in the office upstairs. Bill decided to take me back home to continue my sleep...hate pain pills...

    'Appreciate your comments...

We have had our hangar out there in the area for a long time than I can remember and had not even thought of googling it...I think I should. This is actually the first time I had been here even though I know there is a waterfall there somewhere...

'Flippers are not doing very well. I always forget I should take care and tend to overdo things. Carrying something is the culprit I cannot avoid...good news is right side of my chest had settle down, the left side is still bruised.

Thank you for caring and advise and also the suggestion. I will try to edit it when I have time in the morning...appreciate your commenting.

Nice set Izzie. I've been missing these because you original title still makes reference to the airport. I shall look out for it in future.

1 and 8 are my favourites, not sure why - I think maybe for the colours.

These images are so vibrant - you've managed the contrast very well both in the B&W and the colour versions.

Now you have been trying so hard - go get some rest.

    Hi Isabel

Edited #3 looks much better now as you have got rid of dark parts on the corners and at the edges and brightened the image. IMO if you reduce the highlights just a little bit then the image wouldn't look so dazzling and we would be able to see some more detail on the snow.

Edited #4 looks a bit too bright and you lost some detail on the snow and the trees. IMO you should step back a bit (Reducing the hightlights might help).

I tell you what, learning to use softwares one thing but applying them with the proper strength is another thing. Today I nearly went crazy while editing an image because I was trying not to overdo things. So, good luck all of us

Sorry John...I decided to make my P52 on a monthly basis instead of the quarterly basis and asked Dave H to change the title for me to change quarterly to just monthly. I have this week to finish off January...then when I start February, I'll have to give him a link to the new month's postings. Since I have started the flood/snow theme and have limited going out time this month, I decided to stick to the flood/snow theme.

Thanks for commenting...it sure is nice to hear from you...

Thanks Rachel...with such weather condition here lately, I wish I am in Nepal right now...LOL...I appreciate the choices. I think I am getting used to this kind of strong colours...Thank you.

Thanks for the caring, Kaye...appreciate that very much. Actually I did not do much with regards to vibrance nor saturation at all... They were just the way they are that was what attracted me to shoot there this time around as it was just a block away from our small airport.

I didn't do anything much to #4 apart from go back and remove the vignetted area and found I have lost something there... Thanks for the comment. I find it hard to find time to do editing software during the day with the sun shining a little bit from my blind there. About this time at around 4pm is more ideal or very early in the morning when photographers wanted to go out and shoot...it is always a problem when looking at an image too much and wanting to make it better...I have to get out and stretch a bit then come back in front of my screen...

Thanks for the added suggestion and comments. I value your opinion so much as I try to emulate the colours of your pp...I'm not there yet, but one day I will be. Give me a bit of time...

Well done, Izzie, I like both very much but I'm slightly partial to the monochrome (#3).
You should be well pleased with what you've done.
