I would love to use the sidewalk, but everyone is parking their motorbikes here!

This shot is a hand-held night shot (some noise reduction applied) of the sidewalk I would like to use when walking back to my daughter's apartment. The driveway is about 30m / 100ft past the top edge of this image.

Unfortunately, it seems to be a motorcycle and motorscooter parking lot, so the pedestrians get walk on the road of one of Banagalore's main streets.

Design of every building should be given corporation/municipal permission, only if the ground floor is designed for vehicle parking; but sadly most of the buildings does not observe this and by political influences and by bribing owners escape such rules so that they can get more rents for their rooms...result? public have no option ...this is the situation in many cities....

Thanks for the explanation Nandakumar. That is rather what I would have guessed. The one thing that seems rather obvious in the major cities in India is that there are far too many vehicles on the road with the given infrastructure. I know that the government recognizes the problem and is funding more public transit and metro construction, the problem is getting worse, not better.

The shot is busy, has no single focus, but has chaotic lines leading to the glare of the street light at the top left hand corner. The shot describes big city India at night perfectly.

Chaotic and nobody seems to follow any rules.
