Im putting these ones up as I would like an opinion on which is the nicer image.

Neither is quite what I was after, but I do have a preference.

I like #1 because I feel you captured the essence of togetherness there, the touch of their hands coming together holds that love despite their age. Besides they are closer together in the arms there that there is not the distracting element of like in the second image. Do you get what I mean?

Second one. More attention on the hands and the age of the people is more evident due to the detail.

If you had a 'clean' background I would have preferred #2 but due to the background distraction between their arms I would choose the first image for all round content.

Hi Rob:

They are both poignant and evoke emotions of a long relationship moving into its latter years... I like both, but I think I prefer #1 because of the closeness of the two torsos. It reinforces the connection with the clasped hands.

This is a great concept...would consider a reshoot giving consideration to clothing/background/camera placement.

Hi Rob,

I prefer #2 because they are standing further apart, but still holding hands.
Also; to my mind, there are several distractions around the edges of #1.

There are a number of little things that, perhaps even subconsciously, distract us.

a) There's a triangular shape between the legs of the person on the right
b) There's the person appearing between their arms
c) There's the shadow of that person between the hand and leg of person on the left

Thanks for the comments and suggestions, I think I will try this one again now I have the concept in my head.
The difficult part will be getting a clean background in the city.

I might even take that theme on my holiday and see what I can compile.
