A bit of peace and quiet...

I went to take a sunset shot at this location last night but the weather let me down, so I had to improvise!

The bench I'm sitting on was HUGE, it makes me look tiny

It was quite a dull, overcast shot so I tried a B&W conversion.

    C&C welcome...

Without meaning to be a smart ---, what is the rectangle your head is in?

Nicely composed and the hood/scene reminds me of the linked video.

Not many are, whenever your video gets parodied chances are you aren't looked upon as cool.

Nicely composed and the treatment of everything from the horizon down looks great. IMO the sky is too contrasty and looks unnatural. It does look like a lovely spot to sit and contemplate life.

Very nice one Matt The sky seems to compete with the rest of the image, may be a less strong treatment would help.

A very nice image of a beautiful scene, and the person gives scale. However, I agree with Dan and Binnur that the image, particularly the sky, has too much contrast. The sky, done this way, distracts.

Ok heres the edit, I have gone back a step in my PP of the sky and also made a slight crop off the top. Better?

It looks much better Matt Now the whole emphasis seems on the man who seeks for peace and quietness.BTW my attention is so much on you that I can even notice your boots with high heels

With regards to Brian's inquiry. It appears to me that the rectangular area behind you looks like it is formed on the left by the outlet to the sea of a river and it curves the sand as it is deflected by the rocks on the far left. The flow then moves along the sand to hit the headland on the right, and in doing so forms the straight beach. There appear to be the marks of tyres of a vehicle turning on the sand.

I really like your revised version. And I like the Hobbit looking out to sea
