A little touch of Dali

We are again in Spain and exploring the Costa Brava whilst it is quiet and out of season. One stop earlier this week was the home of Salvador Dali in Portlligat. An intimate place and surprisingly normal given some of the bizarre art the great man created. There is light and mirrors everywhere

Here is my take of the studio in his house








And some very ordinary ornaments








And outside, well there are a couple of bizarre bits, not everyone has eggs on the roof after all

The first image tends to break the 'rules' Kaye, but somehow it does work; particularly when viewed at full size.

#2 would have worked for me but I have a problem with the hanging brass object being out of focus when it is in such a prominent position.

The ornaments are OK and I can't find any serious faults, but somehow they don't exactly excite me.

The last scene is excellent.

The first one is magical because it makes me think of Dali's unconventional approach. Perfect use of a small depth of field to keep only the items being reflected in the mirror sharply in focus.

The last one is very nice too, though consider using about an 8 x 10 aspect ratio to eliminate part of the sky.

I am not really a fan of Salvador Dali, Monet or Picaso. But I like #2 and I am intrigue at the last one.

Thanks all for your comments. Unlike you Izzie I like all of Monet, Picasso and Dali. I'm glad you all picked up on some of the Dali mood which was what I was trying to achieve for myself. I agree Geoff the vases don't do very much - but that was the surprise for me; just how ordinary they were. Mind you, on John's prompting, I have been making them less so...............
