    Sketching the Sunset

I went to a new location this evening, and as I was shooting a standard sunset I spotted this girl working in her sketchbook.

This image is definitely a change from your usual style Matt.

I'm not sure if all that foreground is doing much for this composition though.

Right on both accounts Manfred, not my usual style... I'm experimenting at the moment.

And I agree with the foreground comment, I have a few shots of this girl from slightly different angles which I will post.

    Thanks

Slightly different, sun does appear to be warmer in this version.

    Matt,
I really would not have known the artist was there if you had not of mentioned it(Calibrated monitor here) Maybe dodge her up a bit to if you want to make her more prominent in the scene.

Yeah I would not recognize this as one of yours, used to as I am of your prevailing 'style'. That said I do like this shot, especially #2. But your gf is barely recognizable as somebody sitting there, she looks more like a rock formation (nothing personal of course). I think you would have to crop it quite a bit for it work with her sitting there.

Excellent; if she were friendly enough you could have gone closer to take a silhouette of her action on the right side of the picture and the glowing sun on the left

Hi Matt IMO the first shot is not as appealing as the second shot. I would try cropping #2 to put the horizon to the middle of the frame.
