    Interesting - I've only seen that type of cloud formation once, and that was in Northern British Columbia, Canada, not far from the border with Alaska.

    Clarification for both Dan and Mike.

    In NZ if you live in a rural community you will have received so many shocks from electric stock fencing that you no longer notice. The city dwellers are so tolerant that nothing shocks them. Due to these factors using shock therapy in NZ has been a dismal failure and abandoned along with the electric chair. The elderly can be seen zooming around on mobility chairs which can easily be (but should not be) mistaken for electric chairs.

    Manfred your photograph is more typical of the ones I have seen in the past. On fine days I have sometimes seen multiple single disk ones but I cannot remember seeing a stacked lenticular cloud in such a clear sky.

    Thank you for the entertainment factor of this post. I have not seen one like this before either...Maybe along Mt. Buller, one can see this kind of cloud formation? Whatd'ya think?
