Some recently posted interesting images, and the last one is certainly a tricky scene; but it has worked out well and is worth viewing at full screen size.

Thanks Geoff, I appreciate it
Another 'down by the sea' shot (hey I live near the sea)
I've also placed this in my 'Coastal Isolation' personal project!
Perhaps it's a bit samey to some of my previous work, by ce la ve!

I like to like this, Adam, but I think the first half of the shot should be eliminated for the heck of it. Drift wood will always have an appeal, the bigger the better.
actually it's not much of a crop is it?!
damn I hate using weird crop sizes!
lemme try again brb...
The first bottle is rather close to the edge so I would consider 'moving' it to a position similar to the second version.
With a wide selection and a bit of feather I suspect it would move fairly easily. Then clone over the resulting gap.
Thanks Geoff,
The more I look at that shot, the less I like it tbh and I think I was correct to reject it. The bottle is not at all sharp (it's almost like it was moving back and forth, oh yeah that was exactly the problem!)
The 'negative space' bottle is perhaps ok for the colours, and (believe it or not!) I've made worse jobs of using negative space!
But I still think that the shot with the edits suggested by Izzie is the strongest of the three.... But I'm happy to hear alternate views of course!
In fact it's nearly time for this week's entry... Which is awkward 'cos I haven't got a great deal, and I already played the "old shot, new PP" card
Thank you for sharing the edits, Adam. I like all of them as you go along. The natural water treatment in the bottle shots are good too. I kinda like the first one with the bottle because it points to the ship at the other end. The second one points to nothing at all. Sorry about the late response. I have been editing a gazillion images I took from my vacation. Will share soon.
Adam, your outdoor images are great, the still lifes don't work for me though.
Well the past week has been a bit of a wash out, lots of rain and little chance to make pictures!
I really did think that I might not have anything at all to add (and perhaps I really don't )
But as hail the size of garden peas rattled against the window like a Gatling gun, I pushed aside the hangover* that was knocking on my skull like it wanted to execute a search warrant, and thought
'damn it man, things are dark, grey and miserable, inside and out - maybe try and shoot THAT'
I'm not saying it's an original concept (but then what is) but here's the best of what I managed for week 14

I'm hoping to get out this week.. so normal service of outdoor photography should resume!
*I wish I'd earned my headache doing something fun, but it turns out that cheap Brandy in moderation, is still potent for a sore head

Thats a nice shot
That sort of scene sounds easy, Adam, but it is very difficult to get everything looking perfect. So this is certainly a good attempt. In fact my only negative thoughts are; is there just a fraction too much dark area at the bottom?
I'm holding bits of card against my screen again.
Well I haven't cropped it all, so there's plenty of scope too
You might be on to something there Geoff... My only reservation would be the black bit shows off the rain drops..
You're not wrong about getting it looking (well I won't say perfect) ok... I took a fair few of these yesterday, expecting them to be all a muchness, but most were total crap (not enough rain drops, too many rain drops, too many rain drops running down the window, to much blown highlight, not enough contrasting shapes behind the drops)
The keeper was the first go, when I had the idea for the shot!
If you (or anyone) fancies having a go with the edit, then I won't at all be offended... Just try not to host the result on your own flickr <whatever> account tho, like one of our members did one time... Perhaps I'm overly sensitive, but I found that a bit too cheeky! (I didn't say anything though!!)
