    "Like a girl" C&C welcomed

Last week, I photographed week 3 of the class. What a difference in a week -- the handlers and K9s had so much more confidence.

There are two women in the class (hence my title). They are excellent handlers. The first image is one of them. The second image is not a woman of course, but I liked the personality of the image.

We were in an abandoned building with little lighting - only lighting came from the windows that ran along the front (ISO was high). The orange cones were there for safety (let us know how far the K9s could reach).

It's such a gift to photograph them ~ I end up in all kinds of situations that I must quickly figure out. It's really helped me to develop my skills.

I like these, but then I have two German Shepherd Dogs. Best doorbell you can get.

A couple of excellent images, Kim. The first one looks a bit posed, but the second one is hard and edgy! (I really like it!)

Thank you. Yes, they do make wonderful doorbells.

Thank you Manfred! No posing in these - the last step of the exercise is to allow the K9 to bite the sleeve. The decoys are told to be very animated. Once the dog grabs on to them, they are told to lean away from the dog. It's rather interesting.

Great shots... I am glad you are continuing in these efforts...

Looking at the second shot - I can see why the "bad guys" are frightened of the police dogs...

Nah, shepherds are wonderful dogs, much better than those handbag rats everyone seems to own these days.

Yes, absolutely Richard. I love the K9s and I am honored with the access they give me.

Thank you Sergio. Yes, a perfect place to hone my skills. I like the challenge of not knowing what I'm going to get for conditions. Today was particularly challenging.
